We are currently struggling on a monthly basis to raise enough funds to be able to keep helping the stray dogs. It costs us approximately £12,000 each year to keep going; and after paying Octobers's bills we have very little funds left in the bank account.
We need to be able to raise enough funds to keep the dogs safe who come into our care - often the dogs in boarding are forgotten about as they are deemed 'safe' from being put to sleep.
Each dog in our boarding care costs us £5 a day, plus the costs of any vets bills and of course neutering, vaccinating and microchipping. Whilst the dogs are immediately safe we still need enough funds to be able to keep going, keep these dogs safe until their chance comes and save more dogs
One way to help is to buy a gift from our RDR Lifeline... please do take a look. Thank you!

Homes are needed for dogs featured on this page, however these are not always ex-poundies, and are not always in the immediate care of Rochdale Dog Rescue.
From time to time Rochdale Dog Rescue is contacted by a member of the public asking for help to rehome their dog following a change in work or marriage circumstances, ill-health, the death of an owner or financial difficulties. Whilst we do not rehome pound dogs directly to the public from the pound, the dogs on this page are usually still in their existing homes, are in foster homes, have been signed over directly to rescue or are currently in boarding kennels.
In these instances as the dog's background is mostly known or it is possible to visit and assess the dogs ourselves we will aim to help or rehome the dog by featuring it on this page.
Each dog featured will have photos wherever possible and a description of it's history and current circumstances.
Please read our
Frequently Asked Questions
page before you place an enquiry, this will help explain why it is only the dogs on this page that are for direct rehoming.
Please note that Rochdale Dog Rescue does not rehome to homes where there are children under 10 years of age.
We also need to ensure that if you do not own your own property the landlord has given their permission for a dog and any garden you have is fully enclosed and secure. We also need to make sure any dogs we rehome are not left 'home alone' all day and lastly that any other dogs you have are neutered.
If you think you could offer any of the dogs a loving home then please complete our Rehoming Enquiry Form in the first instance.
Why not follow us on Facebook to get regular updates on all the dogs in our care, to find out about transport runs and up and coming fundraisers?

CARMEN
Please meet Carmen, an Akita Cross, female, approximately 3-4 years old. She is a black and tan mix with white on her chest and she is medium to large in size.
Carmen is a gorgeous girl who is friendly and she will shake a paw for a treat! She is a well mannered girl but can be a little strong on the lead so may need some work on her walking to heel -although this may just be excitement to get out of her kennel and have fun.
Carmen also likes to play chase in the paddock and she is a good traveller.
Carmen does need to be the only dog in her new family.
If you are interested in finding out more about Carmen and offering this pretty girl a home please complete our rehoming form above after reading our rehoming guidelines.
Carmen has been spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped
ZOOKIE
FOSTER OR PERMANENT HOME NEEDED
Please meet Zookie, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, female, approximately 5 years old. She is brown and white and she is small to medium in size.
Zookie is well mannered, playful, affectionate and a pleasure to walk - a real sweetheart. She will ignore dogs when out of the kennel but will get upset in the kennel if challenged by any of the other dogs - for this reason we feel she would be better as an only dog or with a calm sensible male.
Poor Zookie has damaged her tail after becoming stressed in the kennels and this has resulted in two operations where part of it has been amputated. She is having to wear her buster collar alot of the time poor girl.
She would love to be out of the kennel environment and being part of family life with her new owners.
Have a look at Zookie's Appeal for more detail on her injury.
Zookie is still completing her assessment but if you are interested in finding out more about fostering or offering a permanent home in the first instance please complete our rehoming form above.
She will be Neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to being rehomed.
SASHA
Please meet Sasha, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, female, approximately 6 years old. She is white with brown patches and she is small to medium in size.
She is a lovely cute and kissy girl with a happy waggy tail who is gentle with her treats and travels well in the car. She also walks well on the lead and enjoys getting out for a walk.
She has lived with her sister in the past but we feel she would be better as an only dog.
Sasha is still completing her assessment but if you are interested in finding out more about offering a permanent home in the first instance please complete our rehoming form above.
She will be Neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to being rehomed.
SQUEAK
Please meet Squeak, a Cross Breed, female, approximately 4 years old. She is brindle and white and she is small to medium in size.
Squeak was rehomed by RDR originally but has returned through no fault of her own.
She is a lovely, friendly girl who is good with older children, she has a good level of training and she seems Ok with dogs and cats.
Squeak is currently living with other dogs but doesn't always want to share treats and toys so a home as the only dog would suit her best.
If you are interested in finding out more about Squeak and offering this pretty girl a home please complete our rehoming form above after reading our rehoming guidelines.
Squeak has been spayed, first vaccinated and microchipped
BUDDY
Please meet Buddy, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, male, approximately 3-4 years old. He is brindle with white on his chest and he is small to medium in size.
Buddy is very friendly and quite bouncy. He really is a gorgeous softy who loves a cuddle and ear rub. He is also gentle when taking a treat.
We think he needs to be the only dog in his new home.
Buddy is still completing his assessment but if you are interested in finding out more about offering a permanent home in the first instance please complete our rehoming form above.
He will be Neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to being rehomed.

BUBBA
Please meet Bubba, a Dark brindle Cross Breed described as follows... "there's almost certainly some Staffie in there, possibly some collie as he has some slight feathering to his tail, sometimes I think I can see a bit of Lab, sometimes mastiff or Boxer - he's more like a small mastiff"... whatever he is he is a real stunner!
He has a slight limp on one hind leg which has been checked out and it's a slight deformity to his hip socket, probably congenital - nothing can or needs to be done to it atm but he may need anti-inflammatories when he's older.
When Bubba arrived at Lurcher Link, found as a stray, he was petrified of everything and everybody and had obviously been badly beaten but he has come on in leaps and bounds and is now very friendly and very playful but given his scaredyness, he will not be rehomed with any children under the age of 12.
He gets on well with other dogs and walks nicely on a head collar.
Bubba is currently in the West Yorkshire area in the care of Lurcher Link.
He has been Vaccinated, wormed, microchipped and neutered. If you are interested in finding out more please contact Kaye on 01422 240168 (before 9 pm please)or email kaye@lurcherlink.org
