Homes are needed for dogs featured on this page, however these are not always ex-poundies, and are not always in the immediate care of Rochdale Dog Rescue.
From time to time Rochdale Dog Rescue is contacted by a member of the public asking for help to rehome their dog following a change in work or marriage circumstances, ill-health, the death of an owner or financial difficulties. Whilst we do not rehome pound dogs directly to the public from the pound, the dogs on this page are usually still in their existing homes, are in foster homes, have been signed over directly to rescue or are currently in boarding kennels.
In these instances as the dog's background is mostly known or it is possible to visit and assess the dogs ourselves we will aim to help or rehome the dog by featuring it on this page.
Each dog featured will have photos wherever possible and a description of it's history and current circumstances.
Please read our
Frequently Asked Questions
page before you place an enquiry, this will help explain why it is only the dogs on this page that are for direct rehoming.
Please note that Rochdale Dog Rescue does not rehome to homes where there are children under 10 years of age.
We also need to ensure that if you do not own your own property the landlord has given their permission for a dog and any garden you have is fully enclosed and secure. We also need to make sure any dogs we rehome are not left 'home alone' all day and lastly that any other dogs you have are neutered.
We rehome within an approximate 100 mile radius of our base (but if you are close to this then please do ask us).
If you think you could offer any of the dogs a loving home then please complete our Rehoming Enquiry Form in the first instance.
Why not follow us on Facebook to get regular updates on all the dogs in our care, to find out about transport runs and up and coming fundraisers?

MAX
Please meet Max, a Staffie Cross, male, approximately 3-4 years old. He is black and white and he is medium to large in size.
Max is a friendly boy who walks nicely on the lead and he likes playing ball and being busy, so would love a home where he can do more training and activities - he has recently started having weekly agility sessions which he has taken to very well.
Max has been re-homed before and came back because he was showing some pushy behaviour to the ladies in the house; with other family members he was fine.
He can also be unnerved by certain people approaching him when out and about if they come into his space - so he just needs a home with a calm confident owner who can keep him safe and secure when out and about.
He is good with most dogs so could potentially live with another one but cats are a no.
Max has been with us a little while and would love to find that loving home who will give him time to settle into a home environment as will be different from kennel life for him and someone who loves doggy activities as much as he does!

REG
Please meet Reg, a Cross Breed, male, approximately 3-4 years old. He is black with brindle head and legs and the most soulful eyes, he has a smooth coat and he is large in size.
Reg is a friendly sweet boy with a fun loving and playful personality. He can be a little boisterous in the kennel environment but once in a home is a completely different dog, loyal, loving and calm. He is an active boy who likes being out and about enjoying life.
Reg does need to be an only dog as he does not get on with all dogs. He has lived with children in a previous home and is really good with them. Reg is also house trained, non destructive, OK to be left home alone and he travels well.

She has a skin condition for which she needs ongiong treatment.
Rosie was rehomed earlier this year but is looking for a new home due to her owners' working hours; Rosie becomes very stressed when left, she is not destructive but she needs a home where her family are around most of the time and who can build up the time she is left slowly.
Rosie is a very friendly, cuddly and loving girl who loves to play and go for walks; she loves everyone and is very gentle with children. She is Ok with other dogs, knows basic commands and is a quick learner.
