Homes Needed!

Homes are needed for dogs featured on this page, however these are not always ex-poundies, and are not always in the immediate care of Rochdale Dog Rescue.

From time to time Rochdale Dog Rescue is contacted by a member of the public asking for help to rehome their dog following a change in work or marriage circumstances, ill-health, the death of an owner or financial difficulties. Whilst we do not rehome pound dogs directly to the public from the pound, the dogs on this page are usually still in their existing homes, are in foster homes, have been signed over directly to rescue or are currently in boarding kennels.

In these instances as the dog's background is mostly known or it is possible to visit and assess the dogs ourselves we will aim to help or rehome the dog by featuring it on this page.

Each dog featured will have photos wherever possible and a description of it's history and current circumstances.

Please read our Frequently Asked Questions page before you place an enquiry, this will help explain why it is only the dogs on this page that are for direct rehoming.

Please note that Rochdale Dog Rescue does not rehome to homes where there are children under 7 years of age.

We also need to ensure that if you do not own your own property the landlord has given their permission for a dog and any garden you have is fully enclosed and secure. We also need to make sure any dogs we rehome are not left 'home alone' all day and lastly that any other dogs you have are neutered.

If you think you could offer any of the dogs a loving home then please complete our Rehoming Enquiry Form in the first instance.

The following dogs are currently in emergency boarding kennels or are in foster homes under the direct care of us here at Rochdale Dog Rescue.

These dogs have been neutered, vaccinated and assessed by Rochdale Dog Rescue.

Homechecks are carried out prior to you being offered a dog, an adoption agreement must be signed and we do have an adoption fee. Lifetime backup and support via. Rochdale Dog Rescue is offered for these dogs.

If you think you could offer any of the dogs a loving home then please complete our Rehoming Enquiry Form in the first instance.

HAYDN

Please meet Haydn, a Mastiff/Lurcher Cross, male, approximately 2 years old. He is a striking fawn brindle with white on his paws and face, he has a smooth coat and he is medium in size with a lean body and broad head.

He is a friendly chap who is proving himself to be a real star at the kennels where he seems to have been fine with all the animals he has met so far .... horses, goats, cats and dogs!

Hadyn has great manners, walks well on the lead, is very gentle and will sit and shake a paw when asked. He is also a good traveller.

Haydn will be vaccinated, microchipped and neutered prior to being rehomed.

If you are interested in finding out more about Haydn or offering him a home please complete our rehoming form above.

POPPY

Please meet Poppy, a English Bull Terrier Cross, female, approximately 4 years old. She is brindle with white markings, she has a smooth coat and she is medium in size.

Poppy is very friendly, happy, smiley and quite steady. She is also good with other dogs. She is spotlessly clean in her kennel and was very well behaved on a visit to the vet. She is an attentive girl who is well trained and walks nicely on the lead. Poppy is also a good traveller.

Poppy is a great dog who would love to be in a home of her own - especially one where there is a game of football to be had!

Poppy will be vaccinated, microchipped and neutered prior to being rehomed.

TITCH

Please meet Titch, a Cross Breed (possibly with some Great Dane in there), male, approximately 8-10 months old. He is brindle with white markings, he has a smooth coat and he is medium in size.

Titch is very puppyish, a big baby who has the biggest feet which he is prone to tripping over!

He is currently living in a foster home with other dogs and an older child and is great with both. He walks well on the lead and knows how to sit already. He has good manners around food and has been good being left for a short time. Titch is currently being fostered in the Stockport area and prospective owners will need to be able to travel to this area to meet him.

If you are interested in finding out more about Titch please complete our rehoming form above after reading our rehoming guidelines.

Titch will be vaccinated, microchipped and neutered prior to being rehomed.

OLLIE

Please meet Ollie, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, male, approximately 6 years old. He is red in colour and medium in size.

Ollie was originally rehomed by someone who was unable to keep him due to a change in working hours. Ollie came into our care and he became very distressed in kennels and had to recieve vets treatment for injuries sustained to himself when he was left alone.

Ollie went into a foster home and then found a loving new home but sadly his new family are unable to keep him and he finds himself again looking for a home.

He is very much an affectionate people dog and loves nothing more than being at the centre of family life - he has lived with children and gets on great with them - especially if they play ball with him! Ollie also gets on great with the cats at his current home - but he would need to be an only dog.

Because of his dislike of being left home alone Ollie would need someone who is around most of the time, at least to start with, and who is confident in working with his seperation anxiety - poor Ollie really needs to find his forever home.

Ollie is fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered and is currently living in the Burton upon Trent area.

If you are interested in finding out more about Ollie please complete our rehoming form above.

We do also have Haydn who has now been assessed and will be looking for a new home and Suzie who is awaiting assessment.

Why not have a look at our ex-Poundies who are waiting in different rescues and foster homes around the UK and Ireland for a new life and a new home. Click here to view at these dogs.

The following dogs are currently with other rescues.

These dogs are available for rehoming from rescues we work closely with.

Homechecks are carried out prior to you being offered a dog, an adoption agreement must be signed and a donation will be required as per the rehoming terms and conditions for each rescue.

If you think you can offer any of these dogs a loving home please contact the relevant rescue directly as per the details below.

ROSIE'S PUPPIES

Rosie is a gorgeous staffie girl who was kindly offered a space at one of our lovely rescues after being found as a stray. Not long after Rosie arrived at rescue it was discovered she was due to be a mum!!

She has since given birth to six gorgeous puppies who will soon be looking for forever homes of their own. The puppies are thought to be pure staffies and are a mix of boys and girls.

Rosie is a great mum and has a lovely temprament to pass on to her pups who at 4 weeks are just starting to explore and enjoy the world around them.

Rosie will also be looking for a new home once the pups have been weaned - she is a very loving and cuddly girl!

If you would like to find out about offering a home to one of the pups when they are old enough to leave mum please complete a rehoming form above and we will forward this straight onto the rescue.

The pups are currently living in a home environment near Port Glasgow in Scotland. The pups have been wormed and will be first vaccinated and microchipped before being rehomed.

The following dogs are currently in private homes.

These dogs are currently available for private rehoming with some assistance from Rochdale Dog Rescue.

These dogs will not have been assessed by an impartial individual and you will not receive any kind of back up from Rochdale Dog Rescue should things go wrong.

IZZY

Please meet Izzy, a Shar Pei, female, 4 years old. She is fawn in colour and medium in size. She is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

Izzy is a much loved girl who is sadly looking for a new home due to a change in her owners circumstances.

Izzy is a well behaved girl who is house trained and is used to being left for up to six hours. She will sit on command (with or without a treat), has a good recall and likes her toys.

She is good with other dogs and will largely ignore them after a quick hello.

Izzy is a loving girl who has been brought up in a family environment with children but can be a little wary of new people until she knows you - for this reason we feel she would be best homed to a family with teenage children.

Izzy is now looking for a forever home of her own - could that be with you? Her owners would love to find a family who are reasonably local who can get to know Izzy before rehoming her.

If you are interested in finding out more about Izzy please complete our rehoming form above.
