Nikita - Isn't she gorgeous?

Nikita is a female, 3 year old German Shepherd cross. She currently lives with her family in the North West, but due to a change in their personal circumstances is looking for a new home.

Nikita was found in a field as a puppy and has been with her owners ever since. She is fully vaccinated, microchipped and spayed.

Unfortunately she had an accident 1 year ago when her collar snapped and has subsequently got a pin in her 5th toe right foot. Due to this she may occasionally limp if she does too much exercise, although it does not prevent her from doing anything and she is active and playful.

She loves swimming and fetching a ball. She is also very affectionate and adores having her tummy rubbed. She gets on well with other dogs, although can become a little possessive over food so mealtimes would need to be watched if she was rehomed with other dogs. She is ok with cats and does currently live with them but she does tend to chase them. Her owners have limited experience of her with children and so we would be looking for homes with children aged 10 yrs+ only as she is a lively and playful girl.

Ideally Nikita would be rehomed with someone who either has lots of grounds for her to run around in or who can give her plenty of time for exercise. She knows some basic commands although is not very good at walking on a lead as she tends to pull. Therefore Nikita would be better with someone who is experienced with dogs, who has the time to further her training. Nikita can also jump very well and any prospective home would need to be well fenced to at least 5-6 feet high.

Nikita will remain in her family home whilst a new home is sought. They feel she will make a wonderful companion to the right home and are very sad to be in the position of having to rehome her. She is a beautiful dog and deserves the very best. Is that you?

The usual Rochdale Dog Rescue criteria for homing applies.

Anyone interested in homing Nikita needs to contact us or telephone Margaret on 07946 739038 for an informal chat.

As with all dogs rehomed with the support of Rochdale Dog Rescue an informal telephone interview is required, an application form will be completed and if the home is suitable a homecheck will be carried out.

If successful an adoption contract is completed and a donation is usually required. The dog will be neutered or spayed where possible, vaccinated and microchipped.
